Guru Purnima Celebration

Guru Purnima Celebration

On the 20th of July 2024, the students at Sardar Vallabhbhai Global University celebrated Guru Purnima for their professors and admin staffs. The celebration began with Ganesh Vandana by students followed by Lamp lighting by the directors of various institutes. Students also arranged a small performance for entertainment. After the performance, the students had arranged a couple of games for the professors wherein they all participated and won prizes. What made the event special was the enthusiasm shown by the students, specially by the volunteers who coordinated and made it a success. The dedication by the students shows the bonds developed between the professors and the students. The celebration was concluded with the plantation of samplings, symbolically showing growth and nurture.

Days Celebration at SVGU Campus by MCA Students

The College Days at SVGU Campus for MCA students were held from January 23rd to 25th, 2024.

 

The event spanned three themed days: Retro/Mismatch/Bollywood Days on the 23rd, Executive Day on the 24th, and Traditional Day on the 25th of January.

 

Each day featured a variety of activities, including cultural performances and recreational events, aimed at fostering inclusivity and holistic development among the students. Overall, the event successfully provided a platform for MCA students to exhibit their talents while promoting a vibrant campus culture.

 

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme

Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

 

  • Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a two-year postgraduate programme.
  • The MCA programme follows a semester pattern, with a total of four semesters spanning over two academic years. Each academic year consists of two semesters, providing students with a structured and comprehensive learning experience.
  • The curriculum is designed as per the guidelines of the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is updated regularly to ensure that it remains relevant and up to date with emerging technologies.
  • The programme emphasizes a unique blend of theoretical and practical knowledge, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with diverse tools used for developing efficient applications.
  • The curriculum covers both core and specialized subjects, providing a strong academic foundation for a career in computer applications.
  • The programme includes industry project work, allowing students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios and bridge the gap between academia and industry.

 

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

In the context of a complex, ever-changing, and dynamic environment:

 

  • PEO 1: To impart sound knowledge of the latest technologies used in Computer Science.
  • PEO 2: To imbibe the ability of designing, developing, modifying, and fine-tuning suitable computer applications.
  • PEO 3: To imbibe the ability of gathering user requirements to write computer programs according to the customer needs.
  • PEO 4: To solve practical problems using IT and computer related tools in the chosen area of specialization through electives.
  • PEO 5: To build a pool of technically qualified manpower that can easily become productive in the industry.
  • PEO 6: To develop professionals and leaders of high caliber imbibed with values of entrepreneurship, ethics, and social responsibility.

 

Program Outcomes

The program outcomes specify the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes students are expected to attain at the end of program. The outcome of the program is expected to be achieved at the end of program as given below:

 

  • Develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, formulate and solve complex computer science problems.
  • Acquire knowledge of various programming paradigms, principles, and practices to design, develop, and maintain software systems.
  • Develop effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with peers, clients, and stakeholders in the development of software applications.
  • Acquire proficiency in various aspects of computer science, including algorithms, data structures, databases, networking, and security.
  • Understand the importance of ethical, social, and legal issues in the development and deployment of software systems.
  • Engage in continuous learning and keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in the field of computer science.
  • Develop the ability to design and implement software applications that meet user needs and are efficient, reliable, and maintainable.
