Sardar Vallabhbhai Global University (SVGU) organised an Indian Classical Evening with Padma Bhushan Pandit Sajan Misha as part of Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) on Saturday amid the presence of SVGU President Shree Siddharth Patel, Provost Dr. Subhash Brahmbhatt, Registrar Dr. Mayur Shah, SVGU Trustee and renowned danseuse Nirali Patel, among others. The noted vocalist was accompanied with his talented vocalist son Swarnash Mishra, respected Dharmanath Mishra on Harmonium and talented Sapan Anjariya jee on Tabla.
The classical musical evening is part of SVGU’s committed effort to celebrate and promote Indian classical heritage among youth through SPIC MACAY annual celebration which was marked by the capacity filled audience having eminent guest, classical music lovers and directors of various programmes, faculty members and students.
The Padma Bushan awardee started the Indian Classical Musical evening with Raag Yaman followed by Ek Taal and concluded with Maa Durga bhajan. The performance was so engrossing and captivating that transcended the entire audience in a trance and when an hour and 30 minutes passed majority audience has no clue.
“You were the wonderful audience and I will love to come and perform next time very soon”, highlighting the pin-drop silence on part of the audience, Pandit Sajan Mishra said. 
The event is part of the university’s commitment to impart and expose students with best of Indian classical musical and cultural heritages and promote the same in order to carry on the Indian legacy in their life, work and society. 
The SPIC MACAY evening exemplifies the SVGU continues to uphold its promise of E powering youth’s potential and holistic education by nurturing cultural awareness, national unity, and creative expression alongside academic excellence.
