The Mental Health Awareness Session successfully increased students’ understanding of mental health issues and suicide prevention. Attendees gained valuable knowledge about recognizing emotional distress and the importance of seeking timely help. The open discussion helped reduce stigma, encouraging students to talk openly about their struggles.
Ms. Anju Sheth’s assurance of ongoing support from Saath Suicide Prevention Centre provided the university with a vital external resource for students facing emotional trauma. The event also inspired a stronger commitment within the SVGU community to prioritize mental well-being and consider establishing regular awareness programs and counseling services on campus.
