The Institute of Journalism and Communication (IJC) organised an educational visit to the Zee 24 Kalak studio on February 6, 2026. The visit was arranged with the objective of providing practical exposure to the functioning of a television news channel and understanding real-time media operations.
Senior lead channel anchor and Producer Ms. Nidhi Patel explained the IJC students about the various aspects of Newsroom functioning (including News Production), the working environment of a newsroom, and the roles of various media professionals such as Anchors, Reporters, Editors, Camera Operators and Technical Staff.
During the visit, students were taken to the newsroom where they observed how news stories are Planned, Written, Edited and Prepared for Broadcast. The functioning of the Production Control Room (PCR) was explained, where live broadcasts are monitored and managed using advanced technical equipment.
Students were also taken to the news studio and were briefed about Camera Setup, Lighting, Teleprompters and Sound Systems used during live news presentations.
