Brief profile:

After graduating from St. Xavier’s College, I relocated to Mumbai to pursue Masters at University of Bombay. However, my passion for joining Journalism made me join the national news agency Hindusthan Samachar in 1977 to cover political affairs right from the very beginning. In 1981, I moved to Janmabhoomi Group of Newspapers on the invitation and worked with the prestigious organisation. Eventually, I became Associate Editor of Janmabhoomi Daily. In February, 1985, Indian Express Newspapers offered me a position as the Editor of Samkaleen Daily at Mumbai. While being at Indian Express Group, I got a challenging assignment to head NRG/ NRI Board of Government of Gujarat and moved to Gujarat. After the completion of three-year term, I returned to the profession of my passion i.e., Journalism and was attached to Sandesh Daily as regular Daily Columnist and Sambhaav Daily as Executive Editor.

I had the privilege to be the Founder Director and Professor of the pioneering Research Institute dedicated to Sardar Patel Studies i.e., CERLIP established by the largest educational Trust in Gujarat Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) affiliated to Sardar Patel University offering M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs. I was entrusted with the responsibility of being the Founder Principal and Director of an English medium UG College i.e., ILSASS. I had the honour of being a Member of Education Committee of Planning Commission of India as well as the Steering committee of University Grants Commission (UGC). While engaging in the academic field, I continued to contribute weekly columns to various newspapers including Divya Bhaskar Daily (Gujarat), Mumbai Samachar (Mumbai), Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar News Weeklies (London), Gujarat Times (New York). I took the charge as the Founder Director of Institute of Journalism and Communication (IJC) since June, 2019.
